Pipe review: G.L.Pease "Odyssey"

I've been having the 8oz can since 2005. Upon opening I am greeted with the wonderful smell of sweet and smokey tobacco, Theres an earthy smell as well, and Since Odyssey is a "balkan" Blend, No doubt the smokey smell comes from the the serious amount of latakia in this blend, and the sweet from the Red Virginia. This particular blend also has a fair amount of Oriental tobacco to give this Balkan a well rounded taste. (More...)

May 2008, Smoke of the Month: Don Pepin Garcia Cuban Classic

Approximate size: 7 x 42 Cost when broken down per cigar is $9.00 ea. The construction before I clipped it was perfect. I set the Palio on the table and inserted the pigtailed head and made a clean cut. The prelight draw was firm and spicy. Fired it up and the wrapper started cracking. I removed the primary band and clipped about ¾” off and all was well. The draw was perfect and delivered plenty of rich spicy smoke. (More...)

April 2008, Smoke of the Month: Ramon Allones Specially Selected

Fairly dark wrapper to this RASS with a nice triple cap that was slightly unevenly applied. This one doesnt seem as oily as previous RASS ive smoked, but that could be due to the insanely dry winter we are having (been working my ass off to keep my humi stable at 64%) This cigar has a nice feel to it, although i wish the wrapper was just a little smoother.
